Leeds College of Art VLE

While working with the Arts department in one of my schools, we had a look around for ready made resources on the web for the Arts subject. On the top of our Google search result for the keywords “Art” and “VLE” is Leeds College of Art.

There is a no-nonsense feel to the site with a well thought out navigational structure, splitting the courses into Higher Education, Further Education and Part Time Courses.

Addition to these course areas is a section dedicated to college resources.

The college decided to use a separate VLE for teachers but kept to the design theme and format used on the students VLE.

Like the Student VLE, the Teacher VLE is just as well organised with the VLE focusing on programmes for staff by Departments,  Continuing Professional Development through Staff Training and a section dedicated to e-Learning.

There is also a section that we are particularly interested, the Corporation/Governors area which looks a lot more like a collaborative work space for governors.
