7. Intel NUC Skull Canyon – ENTHUSIAST PC
Another barebone system, the Intel NUC Skull Canyon lets you add your own memory, storage and install your own operating system. The system comes with processor already pre-installed with on-board graphics chipset. The skull emblem and black case with beehive details and grill makes this a mean looking machine and deservingly so as it comes with a Core i7 CPU 2.6GHz processor (6th Generation Skylake) with Iris Pro 580 graphics.
The barebone configuration supports SSD storage with M.2 drive interface, PCI Express and SATA connections. For memory, there are two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 32GB of memory at 2133MHz clock speed. Elsewhere there is an onboard SDXC card slot, two USB ports, 7.1 audio channels support, 802.11 abgnac WiFi and Thunderbolt 3 port all squeezed in a flat case measuring 15.9 x 16.3 x 4.3 cm.
Note that the presence of the Thunderbolt 3 port means you can connect an optional external graphics processor if you are so inclined, who wouldn’t as it would be an enthusiast’s dream come true.
